School was okay, I guess, but my friends and I didn’t really think we needed much of it.
I mean, we all grew up on farms and we learned a lot outside of school.
It was my dad who actually inspired me to think about going to university and my mom – well, she went back to school and graduated from university when I was in high school.
That was hard, but she did it. It got me thinking…
Some of my teachers were very cool – I was into business, and they encouraged me.
In high school, I was able to do my co-ops at banks. Now I’m in university and I’ve already done a five-month co-op in Europe as part of my course.
I can’t believe how fun university is – AND I got to live in Europe! High school was the door for me. It opened up all of these possibilities – the world, really.
It’s big, it’s out there, and the sky’s the limit.
